-------------------------------------------------------------------- COLLOQUIUM OF THE LABORATORY FOR COMPUTER DESIGN OF MATERIALS Institute for Computational Sciences and Informatics (CSI 898-Sec 001) -------------------------------------------------------------------- Cluster-Cluster Aggregation of Binary Colloidal Mixtures Abdullah AlSunaidi Institute for Computational Sciences, George Mason University, and Institute for Physical Science and Technology, University of Maryland, College Park In this talk I will describe the stochastic model of cluster-cluster aggregation that is used to account for the behavior of colloids. During my doctoral thesis I developed four different models of colloidal aggregation of binary mixtures. Two of these models are related to heterocoagulation, and the other two models describe the growth of fractal aggregates in the presence of impurities. Properties of both the sol regime and the gel regime of these binary mixtures will be discussed. Monday , November 29 1999 4:30 pm Room 206, Science & Tech. I Refreshments will be served. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Find the schedule at http://csi.gmu.edu/lcdm/seminar/schedule.html
