  Monte Carlo simulations of phase and conformational transitions in 
                   polymeric and surfactant systems

In the first part my seminar, I plan to review recently developed 
computational methodologies for determination of phase transitions in 
fluids. In particular, histogram-reweighting Monte Carlo and finite-size 
scaling methods will be covered.  Applications of these methods to 
determination of scaling of critical properties for lattice homopolymers 
will be presented.  The final part of the seminar focuses on micelle 
formation in model surfactant systems.
